Devri Hünkar Pier Medal

Hünkar Pier Medal, Ottoman Sultan II. It emerged as a result of the agreement made with the Russians during the reign of Mahmud against Mehmet Ali Pasha of Kavala, who rebelled in Egypt. This historic agreement enabled the Ottoman and Russian Empires to support each other in times of war and to close the Bosphorus to enemy ships.

The medal is decorated with embroidery with crescent, star and olive leaves motifs made by Haşim Efendi. Kirkor Efendi created the signatures and inscriptions. The creation date of the medal is 1833.

Sultan II on the front. There is a signature of Mahmud with his pseudonym. On the back there is a crescent and an eight-pointed star.
